Leaders near Marblehead-Halifax finish

(July 8, 2019; Day 2) – The front-runners in the 363nm Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race have crossed the Gulf of Maine and are now reaching along Nova Scotia in a nine knot westerly. As of 18:30 (ADT), the Volvo 70 Warrior owned by Steve & Stephen Murray Sr. & Jr. was 68 nm from the finish with a 44 nm lead over the US Naval Academy team on the R/P 66 Zaraffa. According to the tracker, the Navy squad holds the ORR overall lead while Eben Moulton’s Aerodyne 38 Revolution heads the PHRF fleet.
